About this Blog

Hi I’m Gary Watts from Geelong in Australia, I spent the first 10 years of my working life as an electronics technician performing repairs to home audio and home office equipment. When I saw the writing on the wall that the world was moving to cheap disposable gear, I moved into IT, working on PC’s for various businesses for the past 20 years.

Back in the day I enjoyed making the odd electronics kit, and now I have rediscovered that joy, seeing how there is so much easy to use Arduino stuff around.

This blog is here not only to help me remember what and how I made something a few months back but also to share some of my projects.

Much of the stuff here will be to do with home automation, with a random lot of other projects thrown in as well. Some will be home brew, while some will be off the shelf products wrangled into doing my chores. Whatever gets the job done reliably is my moto, the cheaper, the better.

Feel free to copy what you want and if you have any ideas for improvements to some of my amateur code let me know on the associated project post.
